I was relatively early to the Microsoft employee blogging revolution, and it remains one of the most memorable aspects of my time there. Its incredible to think that a corporate entity like Microsoft would not only be relaxed about thousands of employees publicly (and somewhat officially) speaking their minds, but that it actually put in place infrastructure and then encouraged it. Of course a very large thanks goes to Robert Scoble, but of course it also speaks volumes that such a huge percentage of employees are enthused enough to speak responsibly and considerately about what is is they do, and mostly in the own time.
But, that is not what this post is about, though as always once I start going down a path I find it hard to stop….
Anyway, being one of the earlier adopters I became somewhat of an evangelist (oh I hate that work) for blogging, sprouting off constantly to everyone who was unfortunate enough to come within metres of whatever desk I happened to be sitting at (Darren Strange and Mike Seyfang being just two victims). A lot of the time I received the following reply “Yeah, I would like a blog, I just don’t know what I would write about”. Well, this post is for you, and so is the below link.
